shoes are stiff like wooden clogs would be. They also run small. Order up one size from what you normally wear especially if you have a high instep.these slippers are great. they're comfortable, nice looking and warm. they come in great colors too. i bought burgundy which is a deep, rich color.So comfortable and soft. I ordered the next size up. They also look wide on my foot which makes them seem more like slippers than indoor/outdoor shoes.Clarks makes good shoes and stuff, and these slippers are nice and warm, but WTF with the weird heel part? Like, either make them slip-ons or have a full heel (the backs of these come up about 1" from the sole). When I wear them with low-cut socks, the socks catch on the back of the slipper and get pulled down. First world problem, I know, but it's annoying. I'm forever having to reach down to pull these slippers over my heel or pull my socks up. Granted, this is probably the most exercise I've gotten during this pandemic, but slippers should be something that make you feel COMFORTABLE, not annoyed. I will say I can go out on the front porch and yell and the neighbor kids or feed the feral cats in my backyard while wearing these slippers because from a distance they resemble clogs. Or actually more like something a Scandinavian fishwife would wear around the house, but still better than slippers that scream "CRAZY CAT LADY SLIPPER!" I also don't think these can be washed and if you wear them with or without socks, the lining absorbs foot odor. So far they are holding up well. Clarks is a good brand. Just fix the freaking heel thing and maybe this would be the perfect pandemic slipper! Or better yet, make an ankle-high version! Obviously, the pandemic has skewed my priorities. Never before would I have written a review about SLIPPERS!
